Brian Carter MD

Brian Carter, MD, is a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician who provides comprehensive, non-surgical care for spine and musculoskeletal conditions. He focuses on helping patients reduce pain, restore function, and return safely to work, sport, and daily activities through individualized treatment plans that emphasize rehabilitation and evidence-based interventions. Dr. Carter earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine and completed residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. His clinical interests include non-surgical spine care and sports medicine-focused physiatry, with common concerns including neck and back pain, sciatica, disc-related symptoms, and other neuromuscular and musculoskeletal disorders. He has specialized training in electrodiagnostic testing, including EMG and nerve conduction studies, and offers interventional options such as spinal injections when appropriate. Dr. Carter also performs independent medical evaluations and permanent partial impairment evaluations. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Carter serves as Medical Director for TOC Physical Therapy and is associated with an outpatient surgery center in Huntsville.
