Charles A Shuman MD

Charles A. Shuman, MD, is a psychiatrist specializing in the evaluation and treatment of complex mental health and substance use conditions. He is board certified in General Psychiatry and in Addiction Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Shuman brings extensive clinical experience to his work, with a practice that integrates psychotherapy with evidence-based medication management when appropriate. His clinical interests include mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and addiction/substance use disorders. He has particular expertise in medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and works collaboratively with patients to develop individualized plans that support recovery and long-term stability. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Shuman has held leadership and academic roles.
