About
Chris Cornett, M.D., is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in adult spine surgery. He focuses exclusively on conditions of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, offering comprehensive evaluation and surgical care for degenerative spine disease and arthritis, spinal stenosis, myelopathy, spondylolisthesis, disc herniations, spinal instability, scoliosis and spinal tumors. Dr. Cornett brings a distinctive perspective to patient care through his background as a physical therapist prior to becoming a physician, which supports a practical, function-centered approach and careful attention to both operative and nonoperative options.
Dr. Cornett completed medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Medicine, followed by an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He pursued advanced fellowship training in spinal surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. In Omaha, he sees patients through Nebraska Medicine Orthopaedics, including at the Lauritzen Outpatient Center and the Village Pointe Health Center, and performs surgical procedures at Nebraska Medical Center. His clinical goal is to help patients reduce pain, restore mobility and return to the activities most important to them.
