About

Delaney Smith, MD, is a psychiatrist and physician leader focused on advancing high-quality behavioral health services and systems of care. She serves as System Chief Clinical Officer for the ADAMH Board of Franklin County, helping guide clinical strategy and initiatives that strengthen access, coordination, and outcomes across community mental health and addiction services. Dr. Smith completed her medical degree at The Ohio State University College of Medicine after earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Boston University. She pursued advanced fellowship training in both forensic psychiatry and community psychiatry, reflecting a commitment to serving patients across clinical settings and at the intersection of mental health and the legal system. In addition to her health system leadership, Dr. Smith contributes to academic medicine as an auxiliary assistant professor of psychiatry at The Ohio State University Medical Center and is affiliated with Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her professional service includes leadership roles in organized psychiatry, including chapter-level presidency within the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law and committee leadership within the Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association. Dr. Smith has also published in areas related to forensic and legal psychiatry.
