Douglas Songer, MD, is a psychiatrist who provides comprehensive mental health care for adults and older adults. He focuses clinically on the evaluation and treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, and he also cares for individuals with a wide range of psychiatric conditions, tailoring treatment plans to each patient’s needs and goals. Dr. Songer offers video visits, helping patients access care in a convenient and flexible way.
Dr. Songer earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton and received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed postgraduate training in psychiatry at Wright State University. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Songer contributes to medical education as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Wright State University and serves as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Ohio University. He is a member of Premier Physician Network and is affiliated with Miami Valley Hospital. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, he brings a strong Ohio-rooted perspective to his work with patients and families.
