James Lockey, PhD, MD, MS, is a physician-scientist and Professor Emeritus at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in the Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences. He also holds an adjunct appointment with the Department of Internal Medicine (Pulmonary), reflecting a career focused on the intersection of occupational and environmental exposures and respiratory health. Dr. Lockey’s professional interests center on Occupational and Environmental Medicine, with particular emphasis on evaluating health effects from workplace and community exposures. His research portfolio includes long-term respiratory outcomes related to asbestos and vermiculite exposure and the health impact of man-made vitreous fibers such as refractory ceramic fibers. In addition to scholarly publication, he has served as a principal investigator and collaborator on federally and industry sponsored projects involving exposure assessment and occupational respiratory health.
