Dr. John McGrail is a sports medicine physician specializing in orthopaedic surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where he also serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, he provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, with particular attention to sports-related injuries and active patients.
Dr. McGrail’s clinical interests include diagnosing and managing shoulder, knee, and leg pain, as well as treating arthritis and osteoarthritis affecting the hip and knee. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed postgraduate training that included a transitional internship at Chelsea Naval Hospital, general surgery training at Henry Ford Hospital, and orthopaedic surgery residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
