Karen Ren, MD, is a pain medicine physician with board certification in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine through the American Board of Anesthesiology. She is part of Premier Health’s Clinical Neuroscience Institute (CNI) and Pain Management program, where she partners with patients to diagnose and treat complex, persistent pain conditions and help restore function and quality of life.
Dr. Ren earned her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed residency training in Anesthesiology at the University of Rochester and advanced fellowship training in Chronic Pain at The Ohio State University.
Her clinical focus includes common chronic pain concerns such as ongoing back and neck pain, hip pain, muscle pain, and nerve-related pain including sciatica or radiculopathy. Dr. Ren offers a comprehensive, interventional approach to care and performs procedures tailored to each patient’s condition and goals. These may include epidural steroid injections, sacroiliac (SI) joint injections, hip joint and hip bursa injections, radiofrequency ablation, occipital nerve blocks, and trigger point injections. She emphasizes individualized treatment planning and careful follow-up to support safe, effective pain relief.
