Michael Patrick Murphy, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist in Ohio and a psychologist at Ruah Woods Psychological Services in Cincinnati. He earned his master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Divine Mercy University, where his doctoral work examined the role of flow in the context of vocation.
Dr. Murphy provides comprehensive psychological services, including psychological testing and individual therapy for children and adults. He also offers marital and family therapy as well as group therapy. His clinical interests include depression, childhood trauma, vocational and existential concerns, and challenges related to sexual behavior and addiction, including betrayal trauma.
In couples work, Dr. Murphy draws on an attachment-bond oriented approach that emphasizes strengthening emotional connection and improving communication. He is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and integrates specialized training into the assessment and treatment of concerns related to problematic sexual behavior and relational recovery.
