Dr. Nicolette Howells, PsyD, is a Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychologist who provides evidence-informed assessment and trauma-focused treatment for children, adolescents, and families. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Northern Illinois University, with specialized training connected to a center focused on family violence and sexual assault. Her clinical preparation includes an internship at a forensic center as well as postdoctoral fellowship training in child psychology and in a pediatric medical setting. Dr. Howells has particular expertise in comprehensive psychological assessment and in helping patients recover from traumatic stress and related concerns. In addition to clinical care, she offers occupational and public-safety focused services, including fitness-for-duty and pre-employment psychological evaluations, critical incident debriefings, and wellness appointments, supporting law enforcement and fire communities in the greater Columbus area. Licensed to practice psychology in Ohio and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Dr. Howells is also authorized to provide interjurisdictional services through PSYPACT. She serves in professional leadership through board service and contributes to the field as a journal reviewer. Dr. Howells is an active member of the American Psychological Association and has published on topics related to trauma, its effects, and resiliency factors.
