Raymond Wurapa

About

Raymond Kofi Wurapa, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty certification in hand surgery. He focuses on conditions affecting the hand, wrist, and upper extremity, caring for patients with injuries and disorders that impact function, mobility, and quality of life. Dr. Wurapa earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at Albany Medical Center, and pursued advanced fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at The Philadelphia Hand Center/Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Wurapa is recognized for his commitment to education and has received Orthopedic Teacher of the Year recognition through the Mount Carmel Health orthopedic residency program. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and maintains active involvement in professional societies including the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Association for Hand Surgery. Dr. Wurapa also has a strong interest in innovation, having developed surgical instruments and earned multiple patents for medical devices. He is associated with Tru-Colour bandages, created to better match a range of skin tones. He practices with Orthopedic ONE.
