Renny Uppal MD

Renny Uppal, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, with clinical expertise in knee, shoulder, and elbow arthroscopy. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and holds an Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Uppal earned his medical degree at Michigan State University and completed orthopaedic surgery residency training associated with Michigan State University, followed by a sports medicine fellowship at Florida Orthopaedic Institute. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Uppal serves in leadership as President and Chairman of Reno Orthopedic Center/Clinic, helping guide physician-led initiatives focused on advancing patient care, including opioid-sparing approaches to surgery. He is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and has contributed to the field through peer-reviewed publications and professional presentations spanning sports medicine and orthopaedic trauma topics. Dr. Uppal has been recognized for patient-centered care and professionalism, including honors for compassionate care and on-time service, and he has also been acknowledged for excellence in teaching through an outstanding preceptor award.
