About

Timothy Veal, M.D., is a board-certified psychiatrist who provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment for adults, combining psychotherapy with thoughtful medication management. His clinical approach is integrative and depth-oriented, with an emphasis on psychodynamic principles and performance-focused care tailored to each individual’s goals, functioning, and life context. Dr. Veal earned his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and completed residency training in psychiatry at Naval Medical Center San Diego. He brings experience from military and civilian settings, including service as a psychiatrist at U.S. Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay, informing a grounded and adaptable approach to complex clinical presentations. In addition to standard psychiatric care, Dr. Veal has a clinical interest in advanced interventions for treatment-resistant depression. When clinically appropriate, he incorporates evidence-based options such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), magnetic EEG-guided resonance therapy (MeRT), and esketamine as part of a broader treatment plan. Beyond direct patient care, Dr. Veal participates in consulting and advisory work, public speaking, and organizational mental health education. He has also contributed to professional psychiatric media and is a psychoanalytic candidate pursuing certification in performance psychiatry.
