Todd Elliott Finnerty, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist based in Columbus, Ohio. He earned a BA in Psychology from Niagara University and completed doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology. His supervised clinical training included pre- and post-doctoral internships in Canton, Ohio, at Human Development and Counseling Associates under Gerald Bello, PhD. Early in his career, Dr. Finnerty served as an outpatient psychologist with Summit Psychological Associates. Dr. Finnerty’s clinical interests include evidence-based care for sleep and insomnia, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). He is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine, reflecting an ongoing professional commitment to behavioral sleep medicine. In addition to clinical work, Dr. Finnerty has experience in forensic contexts and has testified as both a fact witness and an expert witness in child abuse cases. He also provides independent psychological disability examinations and record reviews, offered in-person and via telehealth. Dr. Finnerty contributes to the profession through public-facing writing and has been nominated by peers as a candidate for APA President-elect.
