Yu Chen LAc

Yu Chen, MD, is a hospitalist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine (University Hospitals), at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She provides comprehensive inpatient medical care, coordinating evaluation and treatment for adults with acute and complex conditions, and collaborating closely with consulting specialists, nursing teams, and care coordinators to support safe transitions from the hospital. Dr. Chen earned her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed an Internal Medicine residency at Boston University Medical Center and additional postgraduate training in Medical Sciences at Boston University School of Medicine. Her background supports a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to hospital medicine with attention to clear communication and patient-centered decision-making. In addition to clinical care and teaching, Dr. Chen has contributed to scholarly work with publications indexed through UT Southwestern, including research on health literacy in inflammatory bowel disease and other biomedical topics. She is also affiliated with Texas Health Frisco.
